I mentioned yesterday that creating an adventureful life (my “new” word BTW) has to begin with small steps. In fact I’d say it continues with small steps all along the way.
Here’s the truth though: I did more than mention it. I took some small steps, which seemed plenty big enough for me as I took ‘em by-the-way, to further a little adventureful plan I have. I’m talking about the practical action stuff we all need to work on to get us further down the road.
Probably the biggest accomplishment of yesterday was writing a successful, six-figure earning blogger to propose a joint venture promoting a product I created over the past few months.
I’ve never created this type of product before in my life.
I’ve also never proposed a joint venture like this before.
That makes it high stakes adventure for me. If this individual is favorably disposed towards the idea it should respectably profitable for him (from my perspective of course) and absolutely HUGE for me more because of the motivation and sense of accomplishment than because of the $$$.
The doubts though…What if he is not interested? Maybe my product actually sucks and I can’t see it? I don’t really think it sucks but that doesn’t keep all doubts away. You might have these kind of doubts or fears about the steps you take too.
It seems perseverance is key. It’s something I keep running into in reading and listening to stories of successful people. My wife, Janel, and I visited The Henry Ford in Dearborn recently. According to the film we saw Henry Ford founded a couple of failed companies before he hit on success with Ford Motor Co.
It’s not just old timers either. You see it in the profiles of millionaires in Thomas Stanley’s books like The Millionaire Mind.
I get Craig Ballantyne’s daily Internet Independence tips and I see it there when he has emphasized again and again that you don’t have to be genius and special to succeed.
All it takes is an unwillingness to give up.
